Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. It is a hands-on way for you to bless children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, personal care items, school supplies, and fun gifts.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations
This year, Holy Trinity Church Hartshill will once again be partnering with Samaritan’s Purse and will open as a collection centre for shoeboxes during collection week (9-16 November 2026).
Although that is 4 months away, now is a good time to start thinking about supporting this wonderful project by collecting things which you can put into a shoe box.
We are hoping to send more than our previous total of 285 boxes, and to be able to pool resources at a small packing party nearer to the collection window. If you just collect one small item each week – a face flannel, a small pack of pencils, a soft toy, a toy car, a tennis ball, or knit a simple beanie hat each month - you will be surprised at how many items can be collected and pooled to fill boxes.
This project not only sends gifts to children around the world, it also sends hope, and the knowledge that each one of them is loved by Jesus. So, if you can help in any way to make a difference, it would be so very much appreciated.
